episode 53. The year of…spending??

On this episode, we reveal a shocking change in our financial focus, but one we think will be good for us, at least for a short time. And, we run through updates to our 2018 budget, where we're tightening and expanding, and what we're hoping to accomplish. In other updates, we mention completing a new house project (setting up a basic home theater room, which counter-intuitively is really great for controlling and minimizing screen time), Chris notes how he's found the perfect work shoe (Cole Haan Zerogrands), and Kelsey mentions a great way to buy used (Thredup).

Finally, in Love Notes, Chris complements Kelsey for bringing the boys to their first basketball game, and Kelsey complements Chris on taking up the grocery shopping and meal-planning. Ahh…domestic bliss.

  1. I loved (loved!) that you talked about charitable giving this episode!

  2. So glad! Thanks for listening!

  3. I wasn’t going to comment because clearly I’m listening to this way after the fact, but you brought up two things I couldn’t pass on. 1. I love Bed Knobs and Broomsticks and we recently borrowed it from the library. Our library only has the extended version, which is not what I saw as a kid, and boy, it’s long! 2. You started rowing because of the 96 Olympics? That’s awesome! I was at a US Rowing junior development camp during those Olympics, so you brought back a great memory! We also live near a large university and love going to women’s basketball and men’s volleyball games, among other sports.
